Continental Mapping is a surveying & mapping expert providing a wide range of geospatial products and services to government and the private sector since 1999. Our project examples include millions of square miles of mapping via satellite, 1000s of miles of roadway via mobile lidar, massive boundary surveys, high accuracy mapping via survey-grade mobile lidar, aerial imagery, lidar, and UAS as well as software for the geospatial industry. There are 1,073 miles of interstate in Tennessee, and of those, the ones that run through Chattanooga are some of the busiest in the state. It’s a commute that has drawn the ire of many in the community.

Indiana DOT - Southsplit Mobile Lidar

Trouble struck on February 22nd, 2013 when a truck hauling elevator equipment collided with the Virginia Street Bridge overpass on I-65/I-70 in Indianapolis causing a support beam to split and severely impacting traffic. INDOT responded swiftly by engaging with Continental Mapping (their sole master contract holder) to complete a 0.10-foot vertical accuracy mobile lidar and aerial mapping solution for the project site.
