Continental Mapping provided aerial lidar acquisition and data development services for the US Fish and Wildlife Service at the Tualatin National Wildlife Refuge in Northwestern Oregon in support of ongoing inventory and monitoring activities, refuge management, landscape design, hydrogeomorphological assessments, and planned vegetation mapping efforts.
Nashville International Airport sees 10.6 million passengers each year and an estimated 30,000 vehicles passing through the area each day. Recent studies have projected a doubling of passengers within the next 20 years, which is troublesome when one considers the sizable obstacles to growth exist within the area.
Trouble struck on February 22nd, 2013 when a truck hauling elevator equipment collided with the Virginia Street Bridge overpass on I-65/I-70 in Indianapolis causing a support beam to split and severely impacting traffic. INDOT responded swiftly by engaging with Continental Mapping (their sole master contract holder) to complete a 0.10-foot vertical accuracy mobile lidar and aerial mapping solution for the project site.
