(Sun Prairie, WI)—February 19, 2015— Continental Mapping has seen a surge in growth over the last two years. Part of that growth is predicated on the firm winning master contracts with state Departments of Transportation, the US Army Corps of Engineers and other governmental bodies. To help pursue these opportunities, Continental Mapping was excited to have the opportunity to bring Todd Thies on board within the Business Development Department. Todd brings industry specific project management and technical expertise to the team as well as strong writing skills.
Todd got his start in the geospatial industry as a stereo compiler where he quickly obtained a leadership role as a supervisor in the GIS department. After many years completing and managing stereo-compilation and GIS data development, Todd transitioned to Project Management duties. He served as a Project Manager for the Wisconsin Regional Orthophotography program as well as for mobile lidar projects. He managed statewide mobile lidar projects for Utah and Iowa as well as one for Hawaii County, HI [PDB1] . Todd was a clear choice for the Proposal Coordinator position given his technical and project management skills.
“I love the work culture, really like the people; thoroughly enjoy my work and the fact that I’m part of a company that works really hard – from technicians to upper management. That kind of work ethic engenders a lot of trust.” – Todd Thies on joining Continental Mapping
