Mapping from Satellite Imagery
Rapid deployment, crisp imagery, sub-meter accuracy, worldwide reach. The aircraft-sourced aerial mapping you’ve come to expect for domestic projects is now available worldwide, thanks to a constellation of commercial high-resolution imaging satellites from GeoEye and DigitalGlobe.

Continental Mapping is pleased to be at the forefront of this game-changing technology by offering our clients high-quality photogrammetric mapping services from commercial satellite imagery in association with eMap International, a leading geospatial products provider.

Our team’s photogrammetrists have demonstrated that the accuracies and quality rivaling many standard forms of photogrammetric mapping can be accomplished by using satellite imagery. DigitalGlobe and GeoEye satellites are capable of providing stereo panchromatic imagery at a 0.5-meter resolution—the highest resolution legal in America for satellite imagery. This imagery allows for 3D photogrammetric mapping with 4-meter accuracies without ground control and sub-meter accuracies with supplemental ground control. Multispectral imagery covering up to eight bands at a 2-meter resolution is also available.

With a revisit time of approximately 3 days (depending on latitude), your next project is readily accessible, domestically or abroad, and archival stereo imagery is available. As in traditional aerial mapping, imagery is tied to control points for increased accuracies through the aerotriangulation process. By tying into existing databases of photo-identifiable points located worldwide, or by sending a survey team to a specific location, our team can ensure that positional precision is accomplished in the final mapping.

From volumetric surveys to site analysis to updated orthoimagery, your next mapping project can be accomplished by Continental Mapping Consultants, no matter the location.
