 Continental Mapping is pleased to announce the opening of our fourth branch office, located in Kansas City, Kansas, and headed by highly experienced land surveyor Steve Roberts. With over 30 years of land surveying experience and holding survey licenses in nine states as well as being a Certified Federal Surveyor, Mr. Roberts and the Kansas City office are a great addition to the Continental Mapping team and bring new expertise to our growing list of mapping capabilities.
Mr. Roberts has had the opportunity throughout his career to gain both technical field survey skills and management of projects and survey crews. Mr. Roberts’ technical skills range from use and operation of all conventional survey equipment to specialized survey equipment such as terrestrial high definition scanners, underground utility location tools, and bathymetric echosounders. He also has experience performing and managing various types of surveys, including cadastral and boundary surveys, topographic and engineering design surveys, geodetic surveys, photo control surveys, terrestrial scanning, bathymetric surveys, and construction staking. Mr. Roberts has worked with an impressive roster of clients, such as several US Army Corps of Engineers districts and DOTs across the country. Mr. Roberts will play an important role in Continental Mapping’s continued effort to reach new clients and expand our skills, as well as better serving our current federal and DOT clients nationwide. Since joining Continental Mapping, Mr. Roberts has led survey work on our USACE Little Rock District contracts, including a major project around Table Rock Lake in Missouri. Mr. Roberts was responsible for collection of control survey data for aerial mapping and lidar collection. This project required collection of almost 300 ground cover points and horizontal and vertical coordinates determined for each. This area also included specific requirements for a 135 square mile Flowage Easement and 20 Public Use Areas. Mr. Roberts is currently registered as a land surveyor in:
