Facilities Mapping
Oshkosh Truck, Oshkosh, Wisconsin

Sample image showing an orthophoto of an Oshkosh Truck facility, with several mapping layers overlaid on top of the photographyContinental Mapping assisted Oshkosh Corporation with their facilities management program by providing orthorectified aerial photography and topographic and planimetric mapping compiled using photogrammetric methods. Aerial photography was flown in the spring of 2008 using a large format aerial film camera, and a field survey team surveyed 14 photo-identified control points.

After the imagery was digitized, Continental Mapping staff orthorectified the results to give the client a highly accurate orthophoto with a 6” pixel resolution for use as a basemap for their GIS applications. Continental Mapping then mapped one of the facilities at a 1”=50’ scale and another facility on the same site at a 1”=100’ scale. 1’ contours were also developed at this time.

This mapping is currently being used to assist staff at Oshkosh Truck in their current expansion efforts and to help their environmental engineers understand storm water patterns and analyze any potential safety concerns.
