Floodplain Mapping in North Dakota for the St. Paul District Continental Mapping provided photogrammetric mapping services as a subconsultant on an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract for surveying services with the US Army Corps of Engineers’ St. Paul District in the Devil’s Lake, North Dakota, area.Project challenges included rapid project estimating, negotiation, designing, and mobilization. This project was quickly initiated, designed, and estimated, and field crews were mobilized within seven working days. This project supports ongoing flood control engineering and planning efforts headed by the Army Corps of Engineers’ St. Paul District. It has been designed in three phases, each with slightly different requirements. The entire area was flown at a spec to support these phases, and any other mapping that may be necessary in the future. |
